Frequently asked questions
What does Redact PDF do?
Permanently remove sensitive text or regions from a PDF. Redacted content is deleted from the underlying page data, not just visually covered.
What file formats are supported?
This tool accepts PDF files.
Are my uploaded files stored?
Files are stored only long enough to process your request, then automatically deleted according to our retention settings — typically within a couple of hours. We never use your documents for anything other than fulfilling your request.
What are the limitations of this tool?
Redaction rebuilds the page content stream and flattens the page to an image where text removal cannot be structurally guaranteed; the output is verified to contain no extractable text under redacted regions before download is enabled.
